Let's Raise Up The Ponce Playa Community

Our objective is to promote resilient communities in the South of Puerto Rico and with this campaign we are directing our efforts   to rehabilitate and revitalize the La Playa community in the municipality of Ponce. This community has shown great deterioration and socioeconomic backwardness, with 62.79% of their families below the poverty level and around 9% outside the labor force (US Census Bureau, 2014-2018). On the other hand, about 20% of its population is made up of elderly individuals (65 or more).

With your help we will be closer to providing a better quality of life for the families of the La Playa community. At the moment we are in the initial processes, assisting community leaders with the development of the Community Impact Measure (CIM) or needs study. Until now, one of the prevailing needs identified through this study has been the lack of a safe home. for countless  families that were affected by past natural disasters. It is estimated that the works (Rehabilitation of homes) will begin in early 2021 and that it will take around 1 year to complete the works.

For this reason, with the initiative: Levantemos Ponce Playa , Ponce NHS, together with Un Nuevo Amanecer, we want to contribute to improving the  quality of life of these families, providing them with a decent home and safe shelter together with a healthy and friendly community environment. As an initial phase of promoting community development, we have as a goal to invest   $50,000.00 , aimed at rehabilitating or rebuilding three (3) homes declared with partial damage and/or uninhabitable of families that have not received assistance to the same end. In addition, these families will receive assistance in situations related to Title Advice, Housing Counseling, Budget and Credit Management, Disaster Preparedness and Recovery, and Home Maintenance.

• With your donation of $10, $20 up to $50 you contribute to  community leaders being educated on topics such as: Community Development, Disaster Preparedness, Community Resilience, Empowerment Credit and Finance, _cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Dignified Housing and other issues of community interest.
• With $50-150 you will help us with the purchase of materials to assist in the rehabilitation of homes in the La Playa community, in Ponce.
• $50-100.00 Will assist us in building permit payments
• $200 covers the digital production of education equivalent to 50 families, participants in workshops on disaster preparedness, advice on property titles, housing counseling, budget and credit management, among others.
• By donating $500 you will help us improve the quality of life of a family,  providing them with a safe roof.
